Biography
Amelia Dawn Biri was born Monday, July 29 in the year 2013. She was born to her mother, Shanay, and her biological father, Donald Farrar. She brought so much joy to everyone, all throughout her life. She was smart, funny, witty, sarcastic, and absolutely perfect.
She loved her mom, so much - but she loved everyone she ever came in contact with. She never knew a stranger as long as her mom or grandma introduced them to her. She could talk to you for HOURS about anything - she would definitely squirrel off (a lot) and often remind her momma that “it wasn’t HER fault, it was clearly genetics” *pointing at her mom while laughing* she had ADHD (genetically from her mother if you missed that) and anyone who knew her would tell you it was both endearing and hilarious.
She was part of a very large family, and an even larger extended family. When it’s said that she didn’t know a stranger, it’s meant. Most people you come across don’t know what love is, and don’t know how to give or receive unconditional love. She did. She had immense love for her family - but most especially her little brothers (Jerry, as well as her two step brothers Linkin and Elis) and her big sister, Molly. They were her best friends. She would do everything and anything to protect them - and also prank them and fill their head with ideas she knew might get them into trouble. She once talked the boys into jumping out the window (6-ish feet off the ground) - and they KEPT doing it til I caught on. She would also hold Linkin and Jerry tightly after they’d wreck their bikes and skin some knees. She was incredibly special, she had this ability to calm anyone that needed it. Her favorite thing was to show people she loved them, and I think that speaks for how her and her brothers were raised. Her big sister, though, that was her bread and butter. She is that COOL big sister that actually wanted to teach and show her younger siblings - art, dancing, music, LOVE.
She had a habit of hanging out with the adults, she was an old soul at the age of 10. She understood more than most adults around her. Her third and fourth grade educators unlocked that “understanding” capability, she had more than just comprehension of knowledge. If a 10 year old could read an adults actual emotions, it was her. And Alex and Megan, third and fourth grade educator’s respectively, they understood that. They understood her the way a mom understands her own kids- and they both became a very important building block of her life AND her personality. They worked so hard with her, and she absolutely doted on them and her other favorite educators in her school. Everyone deserves educators like that in their life - someone other than their mother to believe in them. They so did.
She was outgoing and spunky, she had so many friends but her very best friend was Bella - and Bella is still a very special part of “Amy’s mom’s” life. Bella was pro Amelia getting called the name she preferred - and it was Amy. She grew up watching Doctor Who with her mother, the Doctor was her hero and he had a companion named Amy Pond - she decided that’s who she wanted to be like. She was brave, smart, cunning, beautiful inside and out, funny. Everything Amelia respected about a person. Amelia taught us all that healing with support is necessary, she was the best support, even if it was just a simple hug, and she unlocked more healing in everyone, collectively, around than most leaders I know.
On Monday, October 16 of 2023 her life was cut short. Her time with us was over and her soul got to go home and wait for her momma. Her step father was driving her and her three younger brothers to school after a perfect night of dancing and playing at Jerry’s fathers wedding, he lost control of the vehicle causing it to strike a tree - and the impact took her life instantly. Her three younger brothers fought for their lives - Jerry (Jay), Linkin and Elis were flown to St Louis Cardinal Glennon Children’s hospital where life saving measures were made. Jay made a full physical recovery, Elis is paralyzed from the waist down, and Linkin departed from us 9 days later on October 25 of 2023 after a fight for his life joining his sisters, Amelia and Nevaeh - his moms first child, and many other loved ones to wait for us to come home.
Amelia Dawn, you are missed more than you know. *without you, this home is just a pineapple*
